Musculoskeletal Conditions

Hip conditions

The hip joint is the largest joint of the human body. It can be affected by a wide range of disorders including osteoarthritis, acetabulum fracture, femoral fractures, femoracetabular impingement; hip dysplasia, piriformis Syndrome.

Pain around the hip may be due to soft tissue pain syndromes or referred pain from a back problem.

Treatment options will depend on the cause.

The knee joint is made up of bone, cartilage, ligaments, fluid, muscles and tendons. When any of these structures are injured it can cause pain and difficulty in walking. Mechanical knee problems can be caused by a direct blow or sudden movement that strains the knee, or osteoarthritis of the knee.

Low Back pain

The human back is a highly complex system of series of interlocking elements including the vertebrae, discs, facet joints, ligaments and muscles.

Low back pain (LBP) affects nearly 60-80% of people throughout their lifetime

Pain can vary from a constant dull ache to a sudden sharp pain. It can be classified by duration as acute (less than 6 weeks), sub acute (6-12 weeks), chronic (more than 12 weeks).

Physiotherapy is one of the most widely used forms of treatment for gaining relief from low back pain.

Spinal Disorders

Spinal disorders result from a wide range of pathological processes, but symptoms and disability generally are consequences of impingement of the neural elements and/or instability of spinal segments

Physiotherapy will focus on strengthening the muscles of the back/neck and improving flexibility as well as range of motion.
